John & Friends Rocked the South Bay
An amazing show from start to finish, simply put. Michael Franti & Spearhead spread sunshine and love wherever they go. Emotion, fun, and connectivity - musically and lyrically, it was first-rate. Vacationing in their Global Village is a wonderful experience. The uncomfortable element was the sound board, turned too high for Spearhead's set. After the first 2 Millionaire$ songs, it seemed the audio techs worked it out, creating and enhancing a spiritually musical experience. Creating sound quality that compliments rock guitar, blues, and acoustic prowess takes much technique. Millionaire$ is an old soul, comfortable in every genre, a musician's musician, and a music lover's musician. Vocally, he was spot on, from falsetto to bass and everything in between. He was a gracious and humble host, thanking the audience and making a personal connection in the vast arena. The show exceeded expectations, with an otherworldly drum solo and John's blues guitar shining. I thank John for making it an incredible Friday night, particularly for "keeping me where the light is."
